ODYRA (/oh-dee-rah/), derived from ODYSSEY & AURA, is a contemporary women’s wear brand creating thoughtful design using Odisha's traditional woven fabric Sambalpuri Ikat for everyday & every occasion comfort. Each piece reflects emotions, identity, and everyday expression, viewing the world through a lens of feeling and intention, where clothing becomes a subtle language of presence and belonging rather than just an wear.
TWO GENERATIONS. ONE THOUGHT.
The idea of Odyra existed long before the brand itself. It began as a way of seeing the world through colours, patterns, textures, and the stories they carry. We are the founders of Odyra - Madhu and Ankit.
Madhu, in her early days during the 90s, grew up around Sambalpuri as a natural part of everyday life. Ankit, in his 20s, grew up watching his mom, grand-maa, and the women around him wear and admire it.

OVER TIME, what we observed ...
What was once a go-to choice for an Odia household gradually became limited to festivals, family functions, and special occasions. The love for the craft never faded - people still love it, value it, and feel deeply connected to it. Yet, it remained confined to specific categories. Interestingly, it wasn't because of price or need, but rather due to limited options. Today, Sambalpuri is widely known through sarees, kurtis, and festive wear. What seemed to be missing was the freedom to choose it beyond these categories - to wear it in forms that fit naturally into a modern-day wardrobe with comfort and ease.
So, WE STARTED ODYRA ...
We built Odyra with a simple intention: to make Sambalpuri Ikat feel relevant to the way we live today. Not by changing the craft, but by expanding the ways it can be worn, experienced, and appreciated. Through contemporary silhouettes, soft flares, gentle frills, and effortless forms, we create pieces that fit naturally into modern wardrobes while staying true to their roots. For us, every piece carries a quiet sense of nostalgia - echoes of watching our mothers and grandmothers draped in Sambalpuri, where fabric held memories, warmth, and familiarity.
